The Women Who, Worcestershire Summer Season Sales Event
Each year we run a series of fundraising events for the Women Who, Worcestershire charity of the year. This year our charity is The DAWN project led by Worcester Community Trust. The project supports victims of domestic abuse in our area, and the number of referrals they receive has continued to rise during the pandemic.
We strongly believe that we can all support local in more ways than one – by supporting and buying from local independent businesses, and giving time and money where we can to local charities who are in more need now than ever.
The Women Who, Worcestershire Summer Season Sales Event was one of those fundraisers! Starting on Saturday 26th June and running every day until 9pm on Friday 2nd June, 19 of our members shared their fabulous products with attendees.

How does an online shopping event work?
The event took place in a dedicated Facebook group set up solely for the fundraiser, with each seller showcasing their business in a two hour live slot. We had hundreds of visitors from all over the UK watching and taking part, buying products live and catching up with videos and messages throughout the week. Sellers donated a percentage of their sales to the charity, and some ran giveaways during their slots too.
Many of our sellers donated a prize to our raffle with tickets being sold for just £2.50 to be in with a chance of winning a long list of wonderful prizes:
- An “I should co-co mint & vanilla” soap set from The Letterbox Soap Company
- A starter pack from Oscar Pet Foods
- A set of three handmade flower paper clips from Lil yellow home designs
- A fused glass wine glass charm from Sarah Greening-Glass
- A “Big Girl Pants” pin badge from Creatively Wired
- A Sun & Moon A5 lino print by Bic Beaumont Art
- A medium scented candle from Soul_ethica
- A pair of silver earrings from 76 Silver
- A mini rattan bag from trulybatique
- A ladies tee from Isolation Generation
- Bronzer for a sun-kissed glow from House of Colour Worcester Jo Gaffney
- A pair of leather earrings from Lilly Dilly’s
- A handmade makeup/accessories bag by Sparkly Styles
- A scarf from Dynastic Art
- A READ MY LIPS gift set from Kate Haynes – Temple Spa, Senior Lifestyle Consultant
- A TOTES EMOSH goody bag from Not Today Thanks Stationery
- A star sign crystal set from Heart to Heart Healing with Rosie and Charlotte
Congratulations to Patricia Jephson who was our winner at the end of the event!
grand total
Over the course of the week we raised a grand total of £590.85 for the DAWN project, taking our total for 2021 to £1555 so far.
We’d like to say a big thank you to our wonderful members who took the time to work at our event, to all those who attended throughout the week and to each and every person who bought a raffle ticket or donated to our justgiving page. We know this money will be hugely appreciated by all those who work with the project
What’s next?
We are planning another big fundraising event later this year which we hope to run in person once restrictions allow. Watch this space!
We also have lots of exciting ideas for 2022 and are looking forward to supporting another wonderful charity in Worcestershire.
With gratitude,
